Rest in peace.

Some have asked me why did I change my name? Well I felt it was more natural that people call me Justin and not Leon (even though its my middle name). After diving deep into reading the blogosphere, I noticed a lot of people don’t use fake internet screen names. They either use their real name or an alias that sounds real.

Leon Westbrook sounded to me more like a “porn name” more than anything. I don’t think people can take a person who used a combo of his middle name and the name of a deceased pet. Another reason why I decided to leave this moniker behind is because its strong association with You Tube, a site I wish not to be a part of anymore.

Because of that the site’s name is now JustinLeon.com. At the same time I’m going to straighten this’s blog’s focus. I want to live up to my tag line “Because web 2.0 is a crock” (Yeah I know it sucks). Aside from some personal stuff every now and then. I want to become the Keith Olberman/Bill O of the internets.

Everyone (including myself) have what we call unwarranted self importance. Some have small and realistic amounts of it. Others have amounts that lead to delusion. A new goal of this blog is put those with large egos back down to earth…one good argument at a time.

So welcome everyone. You can just call me Justin.

I am going to GTFO very shortly. Well that was quick! Google makes good products, but just about everything that they have acquired turns to automatic shit after a while. Blogger.com just happens to be one of those sites.

It served me well for a while, but according to the blogosphere you aren’t taken seriously as a blogger unless you own your own space. With a custom install of WordPress (NOT wordpress.com). I have the flexibility to do a lot more.

While I move over, the site might be inaccessible for a day or two or for how ever long the domain DNS transfer will take place. Once that is done, I will use a “temp” theme until I find a cheap or free wordpress theme that suits me.
Never mind. I found one!

I might tweak a bit a bit later, right now my HTML skills are a bit rusty.

I had posted on Livejournal for five years.

I had some great times and made some good friends (and I almost dated a girl from there!)

For the most part it was mainly about my personal issues in my life but sometimes I did some creative writing and unfortunately it wasn’t well received there.

Also, considering that LJ is 60% female and it has been on the decline for several years, I’ve decided to have a proper blog. I probably won’t talk about my personal life a lot here, but i’ll talk about the things that I care about the most like hockey, indie music, the mets and rangers, youtube and other internets shit.

Amid all of the craziness me finishing school I will at least attempt to update this thing 2-3 times a week.

Eventually when this thing takes off I’ll put it on proper hosting.

I probably won’t make any money off of this, but that’s ok. I just want a soapbox with less estrogen.
